The Display Nautical Charts Sample for WebAPI is a great new sample for web developers looking to display S-57 data. The sample uses Map Suite WebAPI Edition on the server side and OpenLayers 4 on the client side to consume the data from the server. This is a powerful combination that allows you to build scalable maritime applications. To help the reader better interpret maps, developers should consider adding legends to their GIS apps. The AdornmentLayer APIs in Map Suite helps developers enhance their maps with legends, titles, directional arrows, logos, scale bars and other elements which helps the reader better understand the message the map is trying to convey. Adornments are in a fixed position, regardless of panning and can be added to your digital map or carried over to the print map. You can quickly get started with Map Suite by using one of the extensions from Visual Studio Marketplace. You can find templates from within Visual Studio or on the web by searching for “ThinkGeo” or “MapSuite”. These can be easily installed with just a few clicks.
The latest Visual Studio templates are available for all Map Suite UI controls, including WebAPI, iOS, Android, Desktop (WinForms), Desktop (WPF), Web (WebForms) and MVC Editions. The templates will run on Visual Studio 2015 and 2017. Continue reading

This is another major milestone which includes a number of new features, including cross-platform support for Windows, Linux and MacOS, ability to run Map Suite without an installer, access all samples via GitHub, simplified licensing process, stability improvements and more.
The installation process and version maintenance is now easier, all Map Suite products and dependencies have been re-packaged to NuGet packages.
