ThinkGeo Mobile for .NET MAUI - Beta Release
Today, we are excited to announce the beta release of ThinkGeo Mobile for .NET MAUI. This groundbreaking innovation streamlines the development of mapping applications for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, using a unified codebase.
.NET MAUI is an evolution of Xamarin.Forms and allows code sharing across platforms while still providing a rich set of controls and UI elements that adapt seamlessly to the native features and capabilities of each platform. This ensures that your mapping applications feel right at home on each device, whether it's the fluidity on an iPhone, the versatility on an Android, or the familiarity on Windows and macOS.
ThinkGeo Mobile for .NET MAUI is available as a free beta to all ThinkGeo users until May 2024. After that, it will be accessible to all ThinkGeo Mobile and Ultimate users.
Get Started Today!
You can get started by downloading the MAUI ‘HowDoI’ samples from our Gitlab repo. Make sure to check back occasionally as we will be adding to these samples over the next few months.
When looking at the samples, you’ll notice they use the same familiar ThinkGeo.Core library that our Desktop and Web components use. Much of the code from your existing applications will easily migrate to your new MAUI app.
Additionally, your new MAUI project will need to reference the ThinkGeo.UI.MAUI package that provides all the MAUI-specific functionality.
